69th Republic Day was celebrated in Heavenly Palace (Senior Citizen Home)

Before the function started environment was fully patriotic with the Patriotic songs.69th Republic Day was celebrated in Heavenly Palace which was attended by most of residents despite heavy fog and inclement weather. Col. Sanjay Bhatia (GM) gave importance of 26th January of 1950 that it is on this day India became Independent Republic. Though the Indian constitution came into being on 26th Nov. 1949 but was adopted on 26th Jan. 1950. Date of 26th was selected because on this day in 1930 Indian National Congress gave slogan of Purna Swaraj.
It is on this day i.e. 26 Jan. 1950 the Government of India 1935 act was replaced by Indian constitution and India became Independent republic. Also told that salute of large parade of Delhi is taken by President, Commander in chief of Forces and PM lays wreath at Amar Jawan Jyoti, India Gate in the memory of soldiers who sacrificed their life for the country.
Dr. S.S Johl (Chancellor of Central University) and Senior Advisor of the Trust unfurled the flag and told people how the meaning of constitution has been deformed and we all must work towards restoring it to its original form.
In the end function was ended with the slogans of “JAIHIND” and distribution of Ladoos.

Musical session was conducted by Heavenly Palace in the central lawn of Heavenly Palace. Miss Renu & Mr. Jagmeet, brother & sister rattled out melodious song after song. Lilting & melodious tunes touched the heart of senior residents. Everyone forgot about their age & became children & danced to the lilting tunes. Every resident enjoyed the musical session. Dr. S.S.Johl appreciated singers & gave vote of thanks. The function ended with the sumptuous lunch.

Lohri Celebrations at Heavenly Palace (Senior Citizen Home)

Lohri was celebrated on 13 Jan. 2018 by all residents of Heavenly Palace, Children of Margdarshan and Heavenly Angels. It was started with welcome address by General Manager, who gave significance of Lohri festival to all that it is a winter time Punjabi folk festival, celebrated primarily by Sikhs and Hindus from the Punjab region of Indian subcontinent. The significance and legends about the Lohri festival are many and these link the festival to the Punjab region. Many people believe the festival commemorates the passing of the winter solstice. Lohri marks the end of winter season, and is a traditional welcome of longer days and sun’s journey to the northern hemisphere by Sikhs and Hindus in the northern regions of the Indian subcontinent. It is observed the night before Makar Sankarnti, also known as Maghi, and according to the solar part of the Lunisolar Bikrami calendar and typically falls about the same date every year (January 13) . A few other residents also gave their view point of Lohri celebrations. Children of Margdarshan, Heavenly Angels and residents gave performances to mark the cultural folk festival spirit of Punjab and North India. Residents also gave performances. Lohri fire was lit with all residents participating with Punjabi folk and Lohri songs & all had a good time shaking their feet to the tune of heavy beats of Punjabi folk songs & lilting tunes. Finale of the function was with the sumptuous lunch.

Meditation Session on Poornima

A meditation session was conducted on poornima by Heavenly Palace. Even after severe winters residents participated & enjoyed the meditation session with Dr. Pooja Jain. This feature of meditation has become a regular affair of Heavenly Palace to soothe their anxiety.

A HUGE CELEBRATION was organized on 31 Dec. 2017 in Heavenly Palace to bid farewell to Mr. 2017 and welcome his successor Mr. 2018. All residents, staff, Margdarshan students, children of Heavenly Angels sang songs, performed skits, dances and played games. Everyone enjoyed the show despite cold weather. Finally residents danced to the tunes of heavy beats thrown out by DJ in the central lawn of Heavenly Palace.
