Before the function started environment was fully patriotic with the Patriotic songs.69th Republic Day was celebrated in Heavenly Palace which was attended by most of residents despite heavy fog and inclement weather. Col. Sanjay Bhatia (GM) gave importance of 26th January of 1950 that it is on this day India became Independent Republic. Though the Indian constitution came into being on 26th Nov. 1949 but was adopted on 26th Jan. 1950. Date of 26th was selected because on this day in 1930 Indian National Congress gave slogan of Purna Swaraj.
It is on this day i.e. 26 Jan. 1950 the Government of India 1935 act was replaced by Indian constitution and India became Independent republic. Also told that salute of large parade of Delhi is taken by President, Commander in chief of Forces and PM lays wreath at Amar Jawan Jyoti, India Gate in the memory of soldiers who sacrificed their life for the country.
Dr. S.S Johl (Chancellor of Central University) and Senior Advisor of the Trust unfurled the flag and told people how the meaning of constitution has been deformed and we all must work towards restoring it to its original form.
In the end function was ended with the slogans of “JAIHIND” and distribution of Ladoos.
